Left our luggage, back down to front desk. Requested a room in a quiet area, the room overlooks the gas station. Inside, the place is beautifully decorated. Not a single architectural detail, just a big rectangular box.

From the highway, you see an enormous yellow building on top of a hill. A new property very close to our destination of Ferndale. $175 per night during the virus crisis on a mid-week 2-nite visit.

Good God, what a waste of money, LOTS of money. I’d specify I want a quiet room- who cares about the view you can’t see anyway. The shower had enough pressure to remove my skin- it was lovely. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the TV from my neighbors room. The front desk staff was efficient, not friendly or welcoming by any means. (Seriously motorcycle riders the exhaust noise is tiresome) There is no bell hop, threw my own bags on the cart and left my stuff to park. This translated into too much car and motorcycle noise for my taste. What I do know is my upgraded room came with a nice view of the on site gas station as well as the closest proximity to the entrance to the hotel/casino. Maybe there’s an ocean and a river in front of that room… I’ll never know. Oops- I should have remembered the chasing the fog part. I decided to stay at the casino for the convenience of on site dinning.
